Discordant Notes: I Insist We Play in Harmony
When a perfectionist meets a free-spirited genius, rivalry gives way to a meeting of souls
Synopsis
Ji Ran is an academically trained musical prodigy. His melodies are lively, but he's hit a creative wall. Qin Xiao is a celebrated commercial producer, immensely talented yet cold and distant. At a music competition five years ago, the only thing Qin Xiao remembered was Ji Ran's taunting smile after his victory. Five years later, they meet again and are forced to work together, turning from sworn rivals into partners.
“Your music is as polished as a mannequin in a shop window.”
“Your work is as noisy as my neighbor's renovation!”
They argue every day in the studio. But when Qin Xiao plays Ji Ran's unfinished melody late at night, and Ji Ran shields Qin Xiao from the media's vicious questions, the tacit understanding simmering beneath their clashes gradually blurs the line between them.
The scar on Qin Xiao's wrist. The requiem Ji Ran can't bring himself to finish. Two geniuses imprisoned by the trauma of their families of origin tear away each other's masks through music and arguments. When Qin Xiao's father publicly humiliates him, and Ji Ran suddenly loses his voice onstage, they finally realize:
The most moving harmonies often begin with discord.
The subject matter of this book is very novel, the emotional description is delicate, and the plot is very smooth. I fell in love with this book at the first sight when I came to Tomato. The author wrote it very quickly, and more than 80,000 words are not enough to read 🤭
Many of the descriptions in the book are very detailed, giving readers a lot of room for imagination, allowing readers to better understand the emotions expressed by the characters. The author writes very well. I hope he can write more. It is too little and not enough to read.
It's really good to watch. The emotional descriptions of the two are very delicate. It's very addictive once you read it. I finished it in one go. I hope the teacher will update it soon (*¯¯*)
It's so well written that I can't stop reading it. I urge you to update it. Thank you, the author.
