Amid the wave of reform and opening up in the 1980s, Binhai City appears prosperous on the surface, but undercurrents swirl beneath. Li Ming, a young private detective and computer whiz who failed his university entrance exams, opens the “Sharp-Eyed Detective Agency” on a street corner, relying on his keen insight and advanced technical skills. He expects to handle nothing more than trivial cases, but one bizarre assignment after another pulls him into a deadly struggle against the forces of darkness.
