In the wasteland world after the nuclear war, retired mechanic Cheng Ye accidentally awakened the "Civilization Collector" system, which can convert highly cooperative creatures into skills/materials. When he rescued an endangered snow leopard cub, he was regarded as the "savior" by the animals. Mutated creatures such as the Laughing Mandala (which obtains energy by making people laugh) and the Deathrattle Tentacle (which relies on obsession to resurrect the dead) entrusted the cub to him. Cheng Ye's dilapidated shelter was forced to upgrade to an "inter-species confinement center", but the human force "Happiness City" listed this group of mutated creatures as a target for destruction.
