The protagonist is Li Xiuchuan, courtesy name Chu'an. He is Big Mouth's biological younger brother, but was taken as a disciple by Guo Juxia when he was young. He grew up with Guo Furong, and later went undercover in the Sunflower Sect, where he met the Thief Saint Bai Yutang. This story explores the grudges and romances between the parents' generation of the people at Tongfu Inn, as well as the inn's story through Li Xiuchuan's eyes as he observes and changes it. The aim is to keep things light and funny without deliberately making anyone look bad, while keeping each character true to their TV-series personality.
