In my previous life, before the college entrance exam, my best friend and I agreed that we'd both get into college, study finance, and make a fortune.
But because my exam went smoothly, I was the first to leave the exam hall.
After appearing on camera for an interview, I unexpectedly became an overnight sensation and made my debut.
Years later, I was a popular star, while my best friend had landed in prison for financial fraud.
After she was released, I transferred her one million yuan to help her out.
But behind my back, she fabricated scandals and stirred up an online harassment campaign, doing everything she could to smear me.
When I uncovered the truth and confronted her, she turned around and accused me instead.
"Lin Xiaohan! What gives you the right to look down on me and dole out charity?"
"I'm prettier than you, I got better grades than you, so why is your life better than mine?!"
She drugged me as part of a premeditated plan, slashed my face, gouged out my eyes and cut out my tongue, then stuffed me in a freezer and left me to freeze to death.
When I opened my eyes again, I was back in my senior-year classroom, with just over a month left before the college entrance exam.
I looked at my best friend, Xu Lili, sitting to my left and whispering to me.
My eyes gleamed with a smile as venomous as poison.
