After Slacking Off on the College Entrance Exams, I Was Forced to Hold a Beauty Pageant

I gave up on the last math problem in the college entrance exam.

I closed my eyes and slumped over my desk, thinking I could always retake the exam. When I opened them again, the twelve-strand crown on my head was pressing painfully against my neck.

Below me, a mass of old men knelt and shouted, "Long live the Emperor!" The Imperial Seal dug into my leg, making it go numb.

My personal eunuch stamped his feet in a panic. "Your Majesty, please tell them to rise! The prime minister is going to get a bad back from kneeling!"

I had just raised my hand when the prime minister suddenly stepped forward. "Your Majesty is over twenty. You should put the realm first..."

I rubbed my hands together excitedly. "Are you going to find me a partner?"

He said with anguish, "You must produce an heir!"

As the officials stood stunned, I slapped the table in delight. "Make the arrangements at once! I want auditions. No restrictions on type, as long as they catch my eye!"
