Some doors, once opened, can never be closed again.
At the beginning of the 21st century, science and technology advanced by leaps and bounds. Humanity has cracked its own genetic code and launched large-scale cloning experiments and DNA recombination projects. In a world where morality is gradually being marginalized, scientists have created thousands of "perfect humans" in the name of "evolution" - immune to disease, possessing super physical strength and superhuman adaptability.
But no one expected that those created beings would quickly lose control. They reproduce abnormally, evolve rapidly, and eventually mutate into "mass infections" that devour everything - zombies in the biological sense, but are smarter and more cruel than imagined.
Human society collapsed, cities became hunting grounds, and night became the only constant background.
In the ruins of the doomsday, Wang Haoran, a seemingly ordinary survivor, just wants to live. He followed the team as they trekked through crumbling cities, collapsed experimental bases and abandoned shelters, trying to find some kind of redemption, or at least... An explanation.
But in the end, they discovered that this was not an accident, but a long-planned "replacement of new species."
Dawn will never come again, because this planet is no longer human.
