When good-for-nothing painter Lin Mo takes commissions using a mysterious canvas, he accidentally awakens the twelve Zodiac "concept spirits." Beasts battered by modern life drop into his studio: paranoid Rat keeps hiding his keys, face-saving Tiger Girl beats up a husky and ends up in the news, and gaming-addicted Dragon Brother gets stuck in the rankings of a mobile game and starts questioning his whole life as a dragon. To make matters worse, the Bureau of Abnormal Phenomena Investigation has its eye on the studio, while pursuers from the Illusion Realm cross dimensions to hunt them down.
Lin Mo discovers that sending the Zodiac spirits home requires resolving their inner turmoil. He gets socially anxious Rabbit Xiaotiao to deliver food to build up his courage, and helps the lost Dragon Brother regain his confidence at a square-dancing competition. When the villain steals the canvas to devour the Zodiac's power, Lin Mo uses instant noodle broth to mix his ink and paints the true, everyday beauty of the twelve divine beasts: the morning sun reflected in the glass Old Man Ox has polished, and the Hello Kitty stickers Tiger Girl treasures on the fridge. The moment the painting is complete, the Zodiac spirits return to the Illusion Realm with their newfound understanding.
After surviving the catastrophe, Lin Mo's style changes completely, and his work "The Twelve Zodiac Food Delivery Picture" fetches a sky-high price. While working late one night, he suddenly spots a wet paw print on the windowsill. A new message pops up on his phone: "User 'Dragon King of the East Sea' wants to add you as a gaming friend. Carry me to the top rank, and I'll cover your rent."
The story is very interesting, the zodiac signs are very cute, and Lin Mo is also very talented. It is very exciting to become an Internet celebrity later. I look forward to the finale🤭
Interesting and lively story, a must-read book
