The Devil Kissed the Nun on the Forehead

I am Sister Mary Joan, who “died,” and Joan, who “faked her death and came back to life.”

After sixteen years of obedience, poverty, and prayer, I chose to escape the script fate had written for me with a “perfect death.”

But when I clawed my way out of the earth, what awaited me was a storm more dangerous than “death.”

It wasn’t just my name that had been buried. So had the truth, desire, and betrayal... and the person who once said, “I’ll wait for you.”

This time, I’ll live for myself.

The living say I’m mad. The souls of the dead say I’ve betrayed my faith.

But I only want to ask one thing: “If obedience is all it takes to get into heaven, is there anyone left in heaven?”
