After the Mad Dog Returned to the Fold, I Never Mentioned Zimu Again

Inspired by true experiences, written for everyone who has ever lost their mind.

Her name was Zimu. Her voice was gentle, her tone languid.

I had never seen her, but she once said:

“Grow up quickly, so... I’ll dare to fall for you.”

I believed her.

I started going crazy at fourteen, writing a new order on the streets, going crazy as my brothers died and the woman I loved left, until I became a rabid dog.

Now, my name is Guiren.

After the rabid dog returned, I never mentioned Zimu again.

But I still have that voice message from her on my phone. I’ve never deleted it:

“Longlong, if you’re still unmarried at thirty, I’ll have a baby for you.”

That isn’t a love confession.

It’s the root of my madness.
