Reborn in a nuclear-blasted wasteland, Chen Xiaowei thought she had landed in a feel-good story about space farming and a revenge queen. But what happened? Her plans went off the rails from the start! Shelling blew up her home, her enemies were out partying, and she ended up in the ICU. The only thing keeping her alive was a "human-shaped little charm" she had picked up: Xiao Yuan.
The little tyke never cries or fusses. Every now and then, though, it points a finger: a cup of water turns into a slushie, and a severely wounded general becomes a temperature-controlled hot-water bottle (the side effect is glowing gold). Xiaowei: ??? Is this power-up a little too convenient?!
To make matters worse, her reliable superior, General Zhou, was taken out, leaving the mess to his stone-faced adjutant, Zhang Rui. Without a word, he grabbed the freshly forged "Cold Edge" kitchen knife (crossed out) battle blade and turned every traitor into "air-dried meat on the wall," heating the shelter with sheer murderous intent. Xiaowei gave him a thumbs-up from her hospital bed: Brutal! But... could you pay the heating bill first?
When Zhang Rui risked everything to save the shelter by charging into the "nuclear reactor sauna" (and nearly getting turned into a sizzling steak), Xiaowei and her "human-shaped wish-granting machine," Xiao Yuan, were forced to team up remotely. The power went haywire, and Zhang Rui nearly wound up in another dimension, blade and all! Before Xiao Yuan collapsed from exhaustion, it was still fretting: "Uncle Zhang... turned into a popsicle..." Xiaowei spat blood: Kid, did you get this wish by making people slash prices on Pinduoduo?!
Now the reactor is completely dead, and the shelter has become an "Arctic Experience Center" in an instant. There's the gravely wounded "human-shaped air conditioner," Zhang Rui; the exhausted "ICU landlady," Xiaowei; and the out-of-battery "carefree wish-granting machine," Xiao Yuan... Can this bizarre trio scrape together a flame before everyone becomes an ice-sculpture neighbor?
Rule number one for surviving the wasteland: Your teammates can screw you over, but the food must never go cold!
#This book is super good, but the updates are too slow. I can't get enough of it. In this world, after reading several novels, they are all so sad that I don't believe in love.
I'm sure it looks good. This apocalyptic article is well written.
