The Coffin of Fate

What does it feel like to climb out of a coffin for the second time? Lin Jin knows all about it.

The eerie "Silent Coffin" awakened at a mass grave gave him the power to absorb death energy, but it clung to him like a parasite and eventually devoured his vitality, sending him to the grave. A lavish burial? Not a chance. A grave-robbing toad who calls himself "Lord Ha," with a thick face and a black heart to rival the Black Emperor, dug him out, coffin and all, and even looted his pitiful grave goods.

With nothing to his name but a coffin that seemed to spell his doom and a body steeped in death energy, Lin Jin rummaged through the trash heap the toad had "generously" bestowed on him and unexpectedly found a Buddha head encased in a shell of mud. The moment he touched it, his mind and soul settled, and the secrets of the Sutra of Silent Extinction and Rebirth flooded his consciousness. A Buddhist cultivation technique? Then what was that **deep black light** shooting into the sky?! The toad's eyes bulged: This damn thing makes no sense!

Death energy tempered his body until it was hard as iron. The toad's sneaky claws struck him and sent sparks flying! The haughty, shameless Lord Ha couldn't bite through this tough bone. He grumbled that Lin Jin didn't know a good toad when he saw one, all the while coveting the black light that could help it become a spirit. So began his "professional face-slapping" style of "tutoring." One was an iron corpse wrapped in death energy, wielding an unorthodox Buddhist art that shone with black light. The other was a grave-robbing toad full of schemes, dreaming of bathing in that black light and awakening its divine powers. In this pitch-black underground tomb, the bizarre cultivation journey of a man and a toad living together unfolds. Amid life and death, they seek the path to Heaven!
