Reborn into a Ruined World

After the battle between the God of Destruction and the God of Creation, the God of Creation pieced the shattered fragments of the world together into a place called the “Remnant World.” A people known as the “Imperfect” were robbed of their stamina and freedom by the lingering power of the God of Destruction. For generations, they have been trapped in a village surrounded by black mountains, scraping by on aid from the Principality of Divine Judgment and the Church of Good and Evil.

Sixteen-year-old Orisis is always sleepy and fond of clever little tricks, but he is forever being kept in line by Sasha, a girl who faithfully believes in the God of Creation. The two of them and their hot-blooded friend Brother Li are one another’s closest companions. When word arrives from the Principality of Divine Judgment of a potion that can restore the Imperfect to normal, hope for freedom finally flares in the village. They dream of farming, building homes, and leaving the village to see the world.

But before that hope can fully bloom, Apollole, a Hell Warrior from the Nidhogg Federation, suddenly arrives. Tasked with seizing a mysterious blue magic stone, he launches a bloody massacre in the village. The missionary and the judge sacrifice themselves one after another to protect the villagers, and Brother Li dies fighting to shield Orisis and Sasha. At the critical moment, Orisis discovers that the blue stone engraved with a “W,” which Sasha gave him, is intimately connected to the item the invaders are searching for.
