Without Me, Wang Xueqi, Heaven Would Be Eternal Night: The Fishing God of All Ages

This is an age when humanity barely survives beneath the shadow of the strange fish. A thousand years ago, the human sage Lin Yuan rose from humble beginnings, created the art of fishing, and led the innate human race in a bloody struggle against the terrifying strange fish. He pulled the tottering world back from the brink of destruction, then single-handedly suppressed the threat for ages, raising Huaxia to stand above the other three nations. Yet when the cataclysm that would destroy the world arrived, he chose to perish alongside the most terrifying strange fish, buying the world a thousand years of respite. A thousand years later, Huaxia’s glory has faded. The once-revered Fishing God has fallen, the nation has weakened, and only one Fishing God remains to guard it, while each of the other three nations has its own powerful Fishing God, all eyeing Huaxia hungrily. The strange fish are once again on the move, and the four nations’ once-a-century contest is about to begin. Huaxia faces a crisis unlike any before. Now, a thousand years later, Wang Xueqi, who once laid an astonishingly grand plan, quietly returns in an entirely new form. He was once an aloof, almost mechanical guardian, yet deep inside he yearned for an important connection. Now he will rise from the dust once more, take up his fishing rod, and walk the path to the summit again. He seeks not only to fight the strange fish and restore Huaxia, but also to find that one glimmer of light that once stirred his heart amid the cold, endless ages. This time, he will use the art of fishing to reach the heavens and return to the peak in his old body. He will reveal the game he once set in motion and claim the summit of a world ruled by strange fish.
