The Immortal Venerable’s Boring Daily Life

In a city where spiritual qi has revived, the ancient Immortal Venerable Lin Chen grows tired of ten thousand years of arduous cultivation, tears through the void, and comes here to enjoy retirement. He takes over a little shop on the corner and hangs up a sign reading "Dustbound Blind Boxes." Who could have guessed the boxes might contain T-L-U-R armor, magic wands, ancient cultivation texts, and even rare treasures from the Three Realms? He had only wanted to munch on chips and lie flat while watching the shop, but one blind box completely derails his plans.

The beautiful policewoman Su Yao accidentally wanders into the shop while pursuing a Superpowered criminal. A T-L-U-R armor suit she picks at random lets her subdue the criminal on the spot, and her dashing transformation in the armor makes the blind-box shop an overnight sensation. Next, Professor Lin Yue, a science devotee, comes to study spiritual qi. After drawing an ancient cultivation text, she and Lin Chen embark on a fascinating clash of "immortal arts versus science." When an evil organization covets the blind boxes' power and tries to seize it, when square-dancing grannies use the Superpower of "The Most Dazzling Folk Style" to make passersby dance the yangge, and when a foodie livestreamer eats a cultivation pill and burps up a rainbow-colored koi, Lin Chen has no choice but to use immortal arts to clean up the messes while watching the policewoman mess up her armor transformation dance and the professor work out quantum mechanics from an ancient text.

From a big shot in the Immortal Realm to a shopkeeper in the city, Lin Chen's retirement is a chaotic whirlwind of Superpowered troublemakers, customers getting into mishaps with blind boxes, and ambiguous feelings between two beautiful women. As technology and immortal arts clash beneath the neon lights, can this laid-back Immortal Venerable protect the city and finally enjoy a life of lying flat?
