The Reborn Demon Venerable

Fall and rebirth: At the final moment of his tribulation, just as he is about to ascend, Demon Venerable Xiao Jin is betrayed by his beloved Dao companion, Luo Qingshuang, and his close friend, Xuan Yangzi. As his soul is scattered, he uses a secret art to be reborn three hundred years in the past, when he first entered the cultivation world.

Correcting past mistakes: Now reborn, Xiao Jin resolves to change the choices he made before. He gives up on joining the righteous Xuantian Sect and instead chooses the Netherworld Hall, a demonic sect that was his enemy in his past life, while making plans to deal with future threats.

Demonic sect trial: During the Netherworld Hall's entrance trial, Xiao Jin demonstrates extraordinary power and cunning, catching Elder Mo Tianxing's attention. He also discovers that his former enemy, Xuan Yangzi, has appeared in the trial as well.

A double identity: After passing the trial, Xiao Jin is taken as a direct disciple by Netherworld Hall Master Leng Wufeng. Meanwhile, he secretly investigates Xuan Yangzi's true identity and discovers that he may be a spy planted by the righteous sects.

A chance encounter in a secret realm: During a sect-organized trial in a secret realm, Xiao Jin outwits Xuan Yangzi and claims the ancient inheritance that was supposed to be his, the Nine Netherworld Underworld King's Art. He also sets a trap that leaves Xuan Yangzi gravely wounded, sowing the seeds of revenge to come.
