I’m a Supplier in the Immortal Realm

In the Tang Dynasty, on a mountain peak at the edge of the Taixu Mountains in Yuezhou, a boy who looked about fifteen or sixteen leaned against the trunk of a towering tree.

He had delicate features, slightly dark skin, and a slender frame that made him look rather frail.

Sitting there, he held a worn book in his hands and read it with relish, shaking his head as he murmured the words.

“Bloodmoon Fruit: oval-shaped, like a full moon, and reddish-brown when ripe. Frostmoon Flower: pure white all over, growing in cold, shady places. Golden Cloud Ginseng: golden in color, with a strange fragrance...” As the boy read, he let out a long sigh.

“With a pseudo-spiritual root, you have virtually no hope of reaching Foundation Establishment. The sect doesn't value you. Zhang Fan, all you can do is work as a low-ranking herb-gathering disciple and scrape by on a few spirit stones each month. Foundation Establishment? You can forget about it in this lifetime.” The boy gave a self-mocking smile, set the book down, and gazed blankly at the distant horizon.

The book listed various low-grade herbs. It was an heirloom left by his parents, and he had read it so many times he could nearly recite it backward.

The world Zhang Fan lived in was called the Xing Sha Continent. Everyone in this world dreamed of becoming a cultivator.

Cultivation meant refining the false to cultivate the true: studying the Dao and practicing in pursuit of one's true self, discarding the false and retaining the true. The first step in cultivation was Qi Refining.

Simply put, Qi Refining meant breathing in the spiritual qi of heaven and earth, guiding it into the body, and refining it. Only when that spiritual qi had been transformed into magical power could one be considered a cultivator.
