Lu Mi, a "freak" from the Department of Sociology, started working as a private detective to earn living expenses. A seemingly ordinary "disappearance case on a rainy night", but the strange cuneiform text on the lock screen of the victim's mobile phone dragged him into the undercurrent of the city. His partners, programmer Cheng Che, and erudite semiotics professor Tantai Ming became his help in solving the puzzle. They shuttled through the dusty files of the library, the dank underground drainage labyrinth and the encrypted corners of the dark web, using space syntax to analyze the urban layout, using the collective unconscious to decipher symbolic codes, and fighting against the ancient shadow called the "Star Orbiter". When the city itself becomes the blueprint for the altar, rational thought is the only beacon. Lu Mi transformed in fear and curiosity, and finally promoted the establishment of an "abnormal symbol early warning mechanism", carving an inscription of protection with mortal wisdom on the edge of the indescribable.
