Douluo Dalu: Ning Rongrong's Little Sister Ships Tang San

When she was six, on a whim, she took a detour to the Soul Hunting Forest. That was where they first met.

Ning Xinli: How can you be so careless? You started absorbing a Soul Ring with no one guarding you. If we hadn’t kindly come across you, you might have ended up decapitated by now.

[She’s clearly expressing concern, but there isn’t a trace of gentleness in her tone.]

When she was twelve, she followed her older sister to Shrek Academy and saw him there.

Tang San: She... is a friend of mine. (A very good friend.)

[Seeing her at the academy gates filled Tang San with an indescribable joy.]

From the very beginning, they were mutually attracted to each other, but neither of them knew it.

His failure to realize it meant he thought he was merely taking things slowly, like boiling a frog in warm water. He always guarded her so cautiously, yet never dared cross the line, afraid that one rash move might frighten the frog into slipping quietly out of his grasp.

Her failure to realize it meant she kept her feelings far too hidden. She never showed even the slightest hint of affection, yet secretly hoped he would make the first move. It never occurred to her that he wouldn’t dare act. That was the carefree confidence of a fish swimming in water.

Notes:

1. The heroine is a native of Douluo and Ning Rongrong’s biological younger sister.

2. The Shrek Eight Monsters are included, but usually only seven of them appear at a time.

3. Tang San pairing; Xiao Wu is not paired with him.
