When chaos first divided, clear energy rose to form the heavens, while turbid energy sank to form the earth. Spiritual energy filled the world, nurturing the first living beings: the Primordial Clans. Blessed by heaven and earth, they could command spiritual energy and wield the elements. They built the Primordial Divine Temples in the Great Wilderness, venerating them as sacred grounds of cultivation.
In those days, spiritual energy surged like the tides. Mountains and rivers gave birth to spirit veins, while seas and rivers concealed sources of spiritual energy. Following the laws of heaven and earth, the Primordial Clans mastered the methods of "drawing spiritual energy into the body" and "transforming spiritual energy into power." They created the spiritual cultivation system, using spiritual energy to temper their bodies, fly through the air, and control objects. Their divine abilities were extraordinary.
But spiritual energy fell out of balance, the earth's veins stirred, and waves of rampaging monsters erupted. To suppress evil, the Primordial Clans established Spirit Guard Camps across the Great Wilderness, using spirit veins as their foundation. They also appointed four great tribes to guard the far north's frozen lands, the southern border's pestilential rainforests, the islands amid the East Sea's blue waves, and the western deserts and sands. The first outlines of a great power gradually took shape.
Over the course of a thousand years, the Primordial Clans declined, and humanity rose. Humans absorbed the essence of spiritual cultivation and adapted it to their own nature, giving rise to two branches: martial cultivators, who wield power through the body and strengthen their sinews and bones, and art cultivators, who master runes and formations and borrow the power of heaven and earth. In the heart of the Central Plains, they built the Great Wilderness Academy, bringing together cultivators from across the land in hopes of inheriting the legacy of the Primordial Clans and restoring order to heaven and earth.
