Mr. Bodyguard, Please Be Quiet

Tang Yaoyao is a little-known, eighteenth-tier star with an “alluring, bewitching” air, scrambling for attention on the fringes of the entertainment industry. She desperately hopes her new bodyguard will be a handsome, loyal dog type who can protect her on set, help her rush between jobs, and deal with her obsessive fans. Instead, she gets a “sharp-tongued, straight-talking man”!

Other people’s bodyguards: “Don’t worry, sis. I’m here, and I’ll keep you safe!”

Her bodyguard, speaking coldly: “Go out dressed like a reanimated fox spirit, and you might not attract obsessive fans, but you’ll definitely attract the vice squad to check your qualifications.”

Shang Yanzhou stands two meters away. His gaze sweeps over the curve of her spine, and his voice is as icy as frost. “Your back is bare enough to show your shoulder blades. Are you planning to perform a striptease here? Or do you think the cold air blowing down your spine will give you a fever tomorrow, so you can skip work?”

He never actually says “revealing,” but his scorn for her “indecent outfit that’ll only bring trouble on herself” is crystal clear. Tang Yaoyao is left speechless, frozen in place, her half-finished pose locked like a statue.

Tang Yaoyao breaks down. “I hired a bodyguard, not a sharp-tongued straight man who acts like my dad!”

But little by little, she realizes that he may talk tough, but when haters corner her in the underground parking garage, Shang Yanzhou says coldly, “Touch her, and I’ll break your hands!”

This contrast between “cold and sharp-tongued” and “secretly protective” has Tang Yaoyao completely in his grasp. A little-known star on the fringes of the entertainment industry and her sharp-tongued, secretly passionate bodyguard begin their sweet, bickering journey to make it big...
