When the Rain Falls at Dusk

Five-year-old Lin Wanzhao first meets Jiang Yundu in a rain-soaked alley. The boy always instinctively tilts his umbrella toward her, letting his own right shoulder get drenched.

The farewell she couldn't quite hear took root in her heart.

Ten years pass. On the night of the dance, she waits alone in a white dress, and every last hope is extinguished.

When they meet again, ash falls from between her fingers. “The flowers have wilted.”

Rain patters outside the window as he asks softly:

“If I make it up to you now, is there still time to listen to the rain?”
