Hong Kong Films: My Boasts Make Me Stronger, Hao Nan, Don’t Stop

Lu Haitao transmigrates into the world of Hong Kong action dramas in the 1980s, becoming a handsome uniformed cop.

Who knew he'd awaken the Bragging System: when others brag, he wins without lifting a finger!

Hung Hing's God of War, Chan Ho-nam, puts an arm around Little Stutter and boasts, "Causeway Bay belongs to us! If I, Chan Ho-nam, stamp my foot, the whole of Hong Kong Island will shake!"

[Ding! The earth trembles, Level 1! Brother Ho-nam... are your feet numb?]

Chan Ho-nam, clinging to the wall and trembling: "I... I was just showing off! Brother Haitao, please take back your powers!"

Big Fool from Sai Kung thumps his chest and brags, "Back in the day, I hacked my way from Yuen Long to Tsim Sha Tsui with a single watermelon knife, and it didn't even get dull!"

[Ding! Obtained: Never-Dulling Watermelon Knife!]

Big Fool: "I... did I go too far? How many cows can I trade this knife for?"

Forensic pathologist Ko Yin-bok adjusts his glasses. "No corpse can hide its secrets from me!"

[Ding! Obtained the skill 'Whispers of the Dead'! Sir Ko, someone in the morgue last night... said you were handsome?]

Ko Yin-bok: "S-Sir Lu! I request a transfer to an office job! Right now! Immediately!"

Before long, the underworld and the police are both acting completely differently:

The top cop at the station begs him through tears to get promoted. "Haitao! Please become chief superintendent! Chan Ka-kui and the others are about to tear the station apart!"

His cool, beautiful senior gives him a smoldering look. "Haitao... it's time for tutoring..."

Standing atop Victoria Peak and looking out over the fantastical city below, Lu Haitao says:

"Brag, all of you! Give it everything you've got!"

"Ho-nam! Chan Ka-kui! Don't stop! Keep going! Your boasts are my superpower!"

Chan Ho-nam and Chan Ka-kui cry out in despair: "Boss! I can't brag anymore! If I keep going, Hong Kong Island will sink!!!"
