Weren’t We Supposed to Be Mortal Enemies? Why Are We Kissing?

[Sharp-tongued, all-talk-no-action top] x [romantic, affectionate, hotheaded bottom]

[Arch-enemies + mutual pining + bickering couple]

They were childhood friends, destined mates. How did they end up as arch-enemies?

Because Gu Zhongye brought it on himself.

-

Shen Yuqing is of Chinese-French descent, with a pair of pale violet eyes and an air of romance and passion.

Abandoned by his mother as a child, he was raised by the neighbors, where he met Gu Zhongye.

He fell in love with Gu Zhongye at first sight and tried to win him over with flowers, only to be coldly rejected.

The first time he kissed Gu Zhongye, Gu Zhongye shoved him away. “Get lost. Stay away from me, and don’t ever show your face again.”

So he left! He swore he’d be a dog if he ever came back!

-

Six years later, they meet again at a friend’s wedding.

Their friend tries to set them up. Shen Yuqing sneers. “Sorry, I can’t stand people like him.” Then he turns and walks away.

Back then, you couldn’t care less about me. Now, I’m out of your league!

Gu Zhongye frowns. Six years have been enough for him to understand his own heart.

-

An accidental drunken night finally makes Gu Zhongye decide that Shen Yuqing is the only one for him, in this life and every life to come.

He pores over dating guides, pursues him relentlessly, and asks Shen Yuqing to be his boyfriend.

Shen Yuqing: Gu Zhongye, why are you so annoying?

Gu Zhongye: [The most dangerous love is the kind where you realize one day that you’ve fallen for someone you hate.]
