Set in Republican-era Shanghai, when the city was plagued by chaos and murder, the story follows Lin Yi, a calm and composed 30-year-old unmarried forensic doctor who has returned from Britain. He is an expert in dissection, combat, and firearms. During his three years at Scotland Yard, he solved many cases and became a devoted Sherlock Holmes fan. His assistant, Han Xiao, is a handsome guy and Lin Yi’s classmate. His surgical skills are flawless, but he loves making sarcastic remarks. Feeling discriminated against as Chinese people in Britain, the two decide to return to Shanghai in the Republican era and open a detective agency. And so their story begins: they solve one bizarre case after another, while also witnessing the Japanese invasion of China and taking part in the War of Resistance!, This book is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of victory in the War of Resistance!
