The Murky Sword Immortal’s Path

Five hundred years ago, heroes vied for supremacy, and evil forces rose in rebellion. The Immortal Venerable established the Taihua Immortal Sect, bringing the world's mystic sects under its rule and outlawing rogue cultivators to eradicate the source of demonic ways. Thus began five hundred years of prosperity and peace, which have lasted to this day.

But time passes, and the Immortal Venerable is gone. The Immortal Sect of today is no longer the sect it was five hundred years ago. The decline of this golden age began with a cry of grief. As the old saying goes:

I entered the immortal sect with a heart sincere,

But worldly blades cut innocence away.

My flesh and blood became the fuel that forged the demonic path,

And right and wrong, pure and defiled, are hard to tell apart.

A thread of old affection was lost amid the Gu's chaos,

A thousand new grudges left no trace of tears.

With rebellious bones and a defiled sword, I point to heaven and earth,

One thought makes a Buddha, the next sinks into darkness.

The book is titled The Defiled Sword. Since another book already has that title, the words “Immortal Path” have been added.
