Modern-day teenager Lu Yan is plunged into the perilous “Shanhai Spirit Realm” by a mysterious jade pendant set with an ancient beast bone. To survive, he forms a spirit pact with Ajiu, a dying nine-tailed fox cub, and undergoes his first spirit metamorphosis in the face of certain death! At Xuanyuan Hill, the sacred land of humanity, he meets companions such as the hunter Yun Yi, whose spirit beast is Bifang, and the healer Bai Zhi, whose spirit beast is Wenwen. As the corrosive qi spreads and corrupted Gu Diao and stone puppets run rampant, the young companions brave the Five Elements secret realms, awaken the power of the Starflame, and stand together against the calamity of chaos. Clues to the Key of Guixu, the shadow of the source of the corrosive qi, and the bonds between humans and spirit beasts intertwine in a stirring epic of protecting the Shanhai world!
