The young master of Shengyuan Group in Jingli City, Xu Che, is handsome, but despite his youth, he has a distinctly tacky style.
His hair is a flashy red and garish green, and he dresses like a mob boss: a gold chain, black sunglasses, and a suit. Yet beneath that over-the-top appearance, there’s somehow a hint of melancholy.
The young master has few friends. Shen Xin is one of them.
But, unfortunately, not long ago Shen Xin stole a sausage from Xu Che’s bowl. Then, unexpectedly, he fell from a building and became a cold black-and-white photo on a gravestone.
Xu Che is loyal to his friends. He rents the room Shen Xin used to live in, only to discover that what happens in the alley is very different from the life he’s known for over twenty years.
The biggest difference is the woman in a white shirt who appears at the doorway.
Noticing that she seems a little down, Xu Che grows worried. He desperately wants to find a way to cheer her up.
“Um…” he suddenly says, tapping his phone screen with one hand. “Would you like to listen to some music?”
During the difficult years behind him, listening to music had been one of the main ways he found a little happiness.
Jiang Linfeng smiles faintly. “Sure. I’d like that.”
Xu Che’s taste in music seems questionable. His playlist is full of bizarre, erratic songs.
Yet Jiang Linfeng listens to the noisy tracks and has a peaceful afternoon nap.
“Through the night, I hear the forest breeze, keeping me company until dawn.”
