Su Xiaoman, an ordinary girl who works at a pet shop, is bitten by a mysterious venomous snake in an accident. After hovering between life and death, she is horrified to discover that she can understand animals! Her world is turned upside down: her aloof roommate, an orange cat called His Majesty, becomes a nonstop chatterbox, and the pet shop turns into a gathering of drama queens airing their grievances. With help from her best friend and veterinarian Lin Xiaoxiao, whose faith in science crumbles before she becomes an ally, and Zhou Yu, a gentle, mysterious barista with a knack for calming animals, Su Xiaoman gradually learns to control her ability as a "Listener."
They begin by resolving hilarious misunderstandings between pets, then establish the "Paw-some Translator Agency" and venture into the city's hidden corners. When faced with the cruel exploitation at the unscrupulous pet shop Happy Paws and the brutal raids of the dog-catchers, the three-person team joins forces with stray animals from the "Woof Woof Squad" and the "Meow Meow Distraction Group" to stage thrilling rescues and fight back. They even bring down Qian Wanguan's illegal breeding facility. After facing crisis and growing together, they establish "City Ark," a warm shelter for stray animals, and use their abilities to support animal welfare on a wider scale.
In the end, the villains are brought to justice, and the "Paws and Ark" studio becomes a heartwarming bridge between humans and animals. Su Xiaoman embraces the responsibility that comes with her extraordinary gift and, together with her friends, protects this Blue Star city, filled with the warmth of "meows and woofs." She listens to every whisper from the furry world, living an ordinary yet happy life.
Can you understand what animals say about being so scared? The heroine used stress reaction and seemed pretentious and not smart.
