Echoes of Longyuan: The Dunhuang Secret Scrolls

Chen Mo wins the first fragment of the Dunhuang treasure at an Istanbul auction, only to be cornered by mysterious mercenaries.

He flees to Venice and seeks help from a restorer named Ella. Together, they discover a second fragment engraved with a star chart in an underwater archive beneath a monastery.

The clues point to Santorini, Greece. A local Chinese geologist, Old Yang, offers his help, but they discover that the last guardian is the granddaughter of a gang boss who is being coerced.

When the three fragments are joined, a three-dimensional route to a secret chamber in the Mogao Caves appears inside a volcanic cavern beneath the moonlight.

Using a bronze cicada as the key, Chen Mo strikes the chime bells and triggers the mechanism. At that moment, the Chinese collector behind it all, Mr. Zhang, appears.

“I’m going to use sound waves to collapse the secret chamber. There’s more inside than national treasures: there’s an energy source capable of rewriting history!”
