[Next generation + one-sided crushes + performative heroine]
On the surface, she is a kind, well-behaved, highly respected leader. Behind closed doors, she is a chaotic, murderous psychopath.
Renee Starling was on her way to Hogwarts to become a groundskeeper when Voldemort possessed her.
After finally making it to Hogwarts, she thought she’d become a master of magic. Instead, she ended up taking a crash course in fast incantations alongside Filch.
In the end, the Wizarding World even pigeonholed her, assuming the leader of the Death Eaters had to be bald.
Many years later, when Harry and the others confronted her, Renee thought back to her time after escaping Azkaban...
Note:
1. The heroine is a player and doesn’t have a strong moral compass. If that’s not for you, feel free to move on.
2. The story doesn’t go to Hogwarts at first. There is a romance plot, but no fixed pairing.
After reading another book by the author, I came to read this book again. It is very good.
