The Divine Pen of Life and Death

Synopsis of The Pen of Life and Death

One stroke can change fate, yet bind you to endless calamities.

Zhou Mo, a down-on-his-luck writer, buys a mysterious brush in the Underworld Market. The words "Life and Death" are carved into its handle, and its bristles are stained red as blood. The brush can foresee death and even rewrite destiny, but each stroke exacts an equal price.

When he saves an old man with a terminal illness, an innocent girl dies as a result. When he rewrites someone else's fate, the Bureau of Fate pursues him. And when the black-robed spirit sealed inside the brush awakens, he discovers that he is the reincarnation of Lu Xuan, a judge who fled a thousand years ago.

Then there's the mysterious woman Su Yuqing, who always appears in moments of crisis. Her right eye is gray and lifeless, and she carries a blood-red umbrella. Hidden in her soul are the scattered memories of the Nine Heavens Mysterious Maiden.

One brush, calamities across two worlds.

He can write the fate of all living things, but not his own sins.

Zhou Mo must choose:

Keep writing and become a judge who controls life and death, condemned to eternal loneliness?

Shatter the inkstone and break the deadlock, bringing the order of the Three Realms crashing down and bearing the karma of all living beings?

Or... find a third path, one even the Way of Heaven has yet to write?
