Our Nineteen Years in Secret

At fifteen, Zhou Yi fell in love with Yu Li at first sight. He willingly stayed by her side, year after year, neither too close nor too far, under the guise of friendship.

Until Yu Li no longer wanted him.

Not even Zhou Yi’s suicide could bring her back.

When they meet again, they proceed cautiously, testing each other’s feelings.

He thinks she pities him. She thinks he can’t let go of his resentment.

He doesn’t know that she quietly fell for him many years ago.

Nor does she know that his love has never wavered in fifteen years.

P.S. They are not each other’s first, and the man has been with someone before. Please don’t read if that bothers you.

They were never together before they reunited.

A realistic story with a slow pace and delicate writing. It’s not thrilling or melodramatic, and I’ll do my best not to let the ending fall flat.

No abortions or infidelity. Neither of them is really put through the wringer, so if that sounds like your kind of story, go ahead and enjoy.

There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people’s eyes, or perhaps eighteen hundred. I can’t please everyone, but I’ll do my best to do right by the characters I write.

They come alive because of me, and I love every one of these fictional characters equally.
