Underworld Currents: My Twenty Years in the Gang

My name is Lin Feng. My story began at a chaotic vocational high school at the turn of the century, alongside five brothers who swore to live and die together.

We stumbled into the underworld, believing brotherhood mattered more than anything and that might made right. We went from street brawls to taking control of Jiangcheng's underground casinos and smuggling networks. Money, power, and women were all within reach. We were once as close as family, yet at the height of our success, we turned the blades of suspicion on one another.

When the crackdown on organized crime swept through, everything collapsed like a sandcastle. Gunfire rang out, and my brother Wang Qiang fell in a pool of blood. Cold handcuffs locked around Chen Hao's wrists. The calculating Hou Ming chose betrayal. Silent Zhao Feng risked his life to cover my escape, and no one knows whether he survived. And Li Kun, the man I trusted most, struck me a fatal blow...

I will never forget the moment Su Xiaoyu fell. Our unborn child was still in her womb. I was the one who pushed her and my brothers into the abyss.

Now I wander like a ghost through Southeast Asia's cities of sin. Jiangcheng is a hometown I can never return to. Brotherhood has become an inscription on a gravestone, and my beloved lies beneath the earth. These twenty years of rises and falls have been a nightmare I cannot wake from. This book is my confession, and a deafening warning to everyone who longs to walk that road: beneath the hidden currents lies nothing but an abyss.
