[Bold, unruly Big Bad Wolf × short-tempered Little White Rabbit]
Wen Yan has the classic look of a little rabbit: white fur and red eyes. His animal traits are so pronounced that Shen Dihua says his transformation didn’t go very well.
He looks sweet and obedient, but his catchphrase is actually, “Come on, let’s fight.”
At least, that’s how things are with Shen Dihua. They don’t cross paths much. More accurately, Wen Yan doesn’t interact much with anyone in the organization.
Whenever Wen Yan comes to see him, he gets straight to the point: “Come on, let’s fight.”
So although Shen Dihua remembers him and admires his perseverance, he doesn’t know his name. That is, until the red-eyed rabbit whose transformation was less than successful makes the S-rank list and becomes the only other S-rank besides Shen Dihua. Only then does Shen Dihua finally learn his name: Wen Yan.
The first thing Wen Yan does after becoming an S-rank is challenge Shen Dihua to a fight. Shen Dihua wins again.
Wen Yan stays cooped up in his room for a few days to recover. Just as his injuries heal, he learns that Shen Dihua has betrayed the organization. As the strongest fighter among the S-ranks, Wen Yan is sent to kill him.
Wen Yan takes the kill order and goes looking for Shen Dihua. As luck would have it, he runs into the badly wounded man near the base.
Shen Dihua thinks he is as good as dead, but to his surprise, Wen Yan lets him go.
“If you die, who am I supposed to fight from now on?”
“Aren’t you afraid the organization will punish you for letting me go?”
“Hmph.” Wen Yan toys with his dagger and lifts his chin slightly. “I’m the strongest S-rank now. They wouldn’t dare do anything to me.”
Shen Dihua is a little surprised. This obedient-looking little white rabbit has a rebellious streak.
