New book: The War Drums Rise
Two streets along Kanxi Avenue in Gangcheng belong to the Lu family and the Xie family, one street apiece.
As a wealthy second-generation heir, Lu Ye is doted on by his family. The greatest hardship he has ever faced is a bitter iced Americano, until he meets Xie Zhi.
On Xie Zhi’s first day at the international school, he introduces himself: “The Zhi in ‘mountain peaks standing tall.’” His words stir up a commotion and wake Lu Ye from his nap. With a terrible temper when roused, Lu Ye fires back with four words: “The Zhi in ‘idiot’!”
From then on, the two are at odds.
Xie Zhi looks cool and handsome, and his academic prowess is on another level. He excels at every skill imaginable, stealing the spotlight that once belonged to Lu Ye. After years of clashing, their feud could practically be tied into a Chinese knot.
Later, Lu Ye’s family pressures him to join a dating show, where he runs into Xie Zhi. For the first time ever, he teams up with Xie Zhi and successfully pairs with him, just to appease his family.
After that, things spiral out of control. Xie Zhi gets closer to him step by step. When he gives Lu Ye all the properties on one street of Kanxi Avenue, Lu Ye is stunned. “You’re taking this role too seriously!” Xie Zhi replies calmly, “I wrote the script in the first place.”
It's very beautiful, but I can't understand the dialect in it 🤦 🤦
I don't understand Hong Kong very well, so the reading experience is a bit poor, but if it's a plot, it's very interesting.
It looks good but I can't understand Hong Kong.
It's very beautiful. Fortunately, I can understand a little dialect [send my heart] [send my heart]
