A Century of Frost at Mixue Jizhou

The tangled love and resentment surrounding honey sesame candy: sweetness wrapped around every flavor of life, soft and sweet when warm, crisp when cold. The warmth of human relationships is thinner than a sheet of candy! Generations of people helped create Jizhou's legendary delicacy. This portrait of life in late Ming-era Jizhou weaves together the love and resentment of families, artisans' steadfast dedication, and the upheavals of the times. Ultimately, it points to the complexity and resilience of human nature, and to the timeless pursuit of understanding and reconciliation through the long river of years.
