Transmigrating to Republican-Era China: I Become a God Through Composition

A top student in the theory and composition department of a modern music conservatory, someone who made a living by ear, had somehow transmigrated into... a tone-deaf person? And in the Republican era, no less? In a failing, rundown opera troupe? A modern music whiz versus a good-for-nothing opera apprentice.

“Three days! I'm giving you three final days! If you still can't find your voice and sing like a proper person, pack your things and get out of the Qingyun Troupe!”

“Sing, or I'll throw you into the Huangpu River to feed the fish right now! Your choice!”

“Did you hear that, good-for-nothing? Three days! The troupe leader said so himself!”

“You should've left ages ago, taking up space and bringing bad luck! You can't even carry a bucket of water properly, and you think you can learn opera? Dream on!”

Lin Chubai thought she had it worse than anyone. All she could do was bring her music theory knowledge to this war-torn era and keep innovating, innovating, and innovating, preserving the tradition and passing it on, again and again.
