Learning to Slay Gods in a Psychiatric Hospital, Acting as the Great Sage Equal to Heaven

Ward 404 held not only madmen, but forgotten myths as well.

When the attendants laughed at Old Zhang for claiming he had “hidden the Golden Cudgel under the floor,” no one took him seriously, until the entire hospital plunged into darkness amid a piercing metallic roar. The floor split open, and a molten, lava-bright cudgel burst from beneath it, heralding the return of an arrogant force that had been buried for all eternity.

And I, a patient abandoned by the world in this place, felt my wrist clamped in a hand as thin and hard as an iron pincer.

“Time’s up, proxy.” Lava blazed in Old Zhang’s eyes. There was no trace of confusion left.

He pointed at the suspended weapon of world-ending destruction and roared as he branded my fate into me:

“The first step toward smashing the heavens begins here, in this psychiatric hospital!”

A berserk power tore through my flesh, and a will that could burn gods branded my soul. From then on, the smell of disinfectant mingled with sulfur, and molten light glimmered in the cold bars of my window. I became the “Great Sage” proxy in the asylum, wielding the cudgel that could pierce through hell.

Deep inside this cage for mortal men, the first lesson began:

How do you use the Sea-Calming Needle to overturn this filthy mortal world and the false gods’ heavenly court?
