Echoes Through Time: Cheng Nan’s Thousand-Year Game of Chess

A funeral for a civilization spanning a thousand years, a final cosmic requiem born from death

On the fifteenth day of every lunar month, Cheng Nan dies in his sleep.

His consciousness is hurled onto a battlefield a thousand years in the future. Amid the ruins of human civilization, he struggles to survive, using his own flesh and blood to test the lethality of alien weapons.

Yet all of this is merely an experiment by an advanced civilization to observe the laws of the universe.

When Cheng Nan sees through this conspiracy spanning time and space, he chooses to set a deadly trap with an ordinary man's body:

He uses the enemy's blade to carve the most heroic epitaph for humanity;

He hides the last ember of hope before the universe falls silent, in the tears of an AI.
