Chronicles of Calamities in Journey to the West

When Sun Wukong was imprisoned on Five Finger Mountain, the fortune of the demon race collapsed. The True Lord Xuanming of the North Sea, the Nine-Headed Insect, as the last great leader of the Jie Sect, faces the Heavenly Court's final order to “clean house.”

His brothers urge him, “Run. Hide, like the other Great Sages.”

He gazes at the plaque in his hand, inscribed “Pacify the Sea and Banish Demons,” and lets out a sneer. The flames of Guixu burn in his eighteen eyes:

“Run? That's someone else's path, not mine.”

“They want a spotless Heavenly Court. I'll give them one thing in return: a shattered cosmos!”
