The most absurd way to survive the apocalypse: talk your way through it.
Qin Chong, formerly a star debt collector known as the “Debt-Chasing Vanguard,” is now the apocalypse’s “Debt King.”
Zombies block the road?
He plants his hands on his hips and sneers. “Brother, biting people is bad form. The contract says you owe me a knife. Not paying? Fine, I’ll stand outside your den every day yelling, ‘Deadbeat zombie, starving again!’ Think your underlings won’t defect?”
Survivors try to throw their weight around?
He instantly turns into a melodramatic tragic hero. “Ma’am, do you think it’s easy being a poor debt collector? Yesterday, I got chased two kilometers by three zombies trying to get this bag of rice from you. Take pity on me and sign an installment repayment agreement, will you?”
Then one day, he tricks a bankrupt heiress into becoming his “human ledger.”
Su Yuyan clutches her calculator and glares at him. “Qin Chong! You said guarding the base was volunteer work, but then you made me write down that I ‘owe you ten meals’?” “That’s called an investment. Once our base takes off, you’ll be a shareholder. First, though, you have to pay off your debt.”
In the apocalypse, he talks his way into supplies and talks his way into recruiting zombie goons. Even the virus has to get out of this debt collector’s way!
