Prologue
I'm always alone.
The metal armrests of the wheelchair are always cold, like the hole in my heart that can never be filled. The wind brought up by my classmates as they passed by could blow my hair, but it couldn't blow away the things in my eyes. I know I'm different from them - not trying to be special, but truly different. Whenever I have mood swings, the air around me begins to twist, and the gravity field rises and falls like breathing. Pens would roll off the table and glasses would suddenly crack and crack. I have to control myself at all times, like walking on a very thin tightrope with an abyss below me.
Until that afternoon.
I don't remember exactly what happened. All I remember is the screeching of brakes, and then the scream. When I came back to my senses, everything in my house had changed - everything was suspended in mid-air. The most terrifying thing is that I feel the "hole" in my body wakes up, hungry and hungry to destroy everything.
That's why they come to me.
"Come with us." The guy in the suit said, his eyes like the winter sea. "There, you will not hurt anyone, and you will not be hurt by anyone."
They called it "Arian". A city hanging on an island looks like a delicate snowflake from a distance. There are many people like me here - the girl who is always humming, tiny flames dancing on her fingertips; the silent boy walking through the corridor, the raindrops outside the window becoming still in mid-air.
We are all anomalies, deviants from the norm.
