(Not recommended) While everyone else struggles to survive the apocalypse, I strike it rich by picking up slimes.
A sudden outbreak of mutations makes plants and animals across the world grow to enormous sizes, while half of humanity awakens superpowers.
Some can control fire, others can teleport thousands of miles. Zhou Yu's superpower is “absolute defense” (wolves can't bite through it, but their drool can still smear all over her face).
From the start, she's got a beat-up car and half a box of snacks. Through sheer DIY spirit, she manages to hole up in an abandoned guard booth, where she discovers:
- Slime corpses = eternally glowing light bulbs (though the green light is a bit creepy).
- Mutated mint = natural insect repellent (side effect: after smelling it for too long, you feel like you've eaten ten mints).
- Squirrels can cast fireballs (but they only want to roast pine nuts and refuse to fight monsters).
While everyone else teams up to fight bosses, she's busy:
✔ Building “the world's first laundry room” out of twine and branches.
✔ Taming a football-sized yellow slime as a warm night-light.
✔ Negotiating with a chatterbox mushroom spirit: “Keep yapping and I'll dry you into shiitake mushrooms!”
The first rule of surviving the apocalypse:
With enough imagination, even a couch potato can coast to victory.
(A lighthearted mix of farming and Western fantasy, with the heroine constantly pulling outrageous stunts. No romance, just comedy.)
The writing was pretty good. The first three chapters attracted me and were very personal.
