Detective Conan: Gin Pays My Salary

Lin Youren transmigrated into the world of Detective Conan and became a penniless detective. Even worse, he suffered from narcolepsy that could strike at any moment. One day, he found a homeless child wearing ill-fitting adult clothes. The kid called himself Conan Edogawa. Seeing that the boy had nowhere to go, Lin Youren kindly took him in as his assistant.

However, whenever an investigation reached its most crucial moment, Lin Youren would invariably fall asleep without warning. By the time he woke up, the case would have somehow been solved. The media, unaware of what was really going on, bestowed on him the grand title of "The Sleeping Detective." Only Lin Youren knew the truth: he hadn't done a thing.

The day Lin Youren looked forward to most each month was when Gin secretly sent him the organization’s "welfare allowance." The ruthless killer always looked annoyed and called him a "useless piece of trash," but he never shorted him on his wages, and even slipped him a little extra on the sly. Once, Lin Youren fell asleep on the subway and woke up completely lost. In a panic, all he could do was wail into the phone for help.

On the other end, Gin gritted his teeth, his voice cold as ice. "You useless piece of trash! Don't move an inch. Fall asleep again, and I'll shoot you!"

When Vodka carried the lost Lin Youren back to the detective agency, Lin Youren vaguely heard the big man mutter into the phone:

"Boss, this illness of Youren's... You sure you didn't spoil him into it?"
