A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality: I Forge an Immortal Path with a Mortal Body

(Mortal’s journey + decisive and ruthless + slow burn + both parents gone) When Chen Yuan was nine, his parents died protecting him from monsters. Fleeing their pursuit, he ran into a small temple, where he lived for three years. Then one day, a couple surnamed Wang came from the outer sect. Chen Yuan followed them to Qingniu Town, where an elderly man over fifty lived.

“Little one, do you want to become an official? I can make all the children in your town officials.”

“Yes!” Chen Yuan replied.

But things weren’t so simple. One day, the old man suddenly began babbling like a madman about immortality, and his expression as he looked at Chen Yuan and the others turned sinister.

“You’re all going to die!”

At the brink of death, Chen Yuan was saved by a mysterious seed he had obtained in the temple. And so he stepped onto the path to immortality.

The pacing may be a little slow, so be patient, dear readers. It gets more and more exciting later on.
