During the War between the Liches, the Fire God Zhurong crashed into Mount Buzhou and triggered the Heavenly Punishment.
For forty-nine days, divine thunder from the nine heavens struck him, yet it could not harm his divine weapon body, forged over countless ages. With no other choice, the Heavenly Dao shattered his soul and sealed his physical body.
A wisp of his remnant soul fell with the shattered stones of the Nine Provinces to Blue Star. Tens of thousands of years later, he possessed Dayu and helped him tame the floods and cast the Nine Cauldrons to pacify the Nine Provinces.
After that, he traveled among hidden figures, guiding people and eventually becoming a renowned figure in his own right.
In the modern era, Zhurong took refuge in online data and fused technology with cultivation, projecting the Nine Provinces into the game Nine Heavens: Return to Origin.
This game, capable of projecting the Nine Provinces, took the world by storm. It offered daily draws for huge cash prizes and also concealed skills and recipes that could become real.
All of this was part of the vast net he had cast: to find someone blessed by fortune to inherit his legacy and help him return to the Nine Provinces.
Just as he found a promising candidate, Zhurong had barely shown himself before he was hunted by a Heavenly Tribulation.
With no other choice, Zhurong fled through a nearby power line. The lightning pursued him through the current, and he accidentally ended up inside Tiedan, causing Tiedan to be struck by lightning.
As Tiedan's body began to collapse, Zhurong pulled his soul into the game's space and forged his body into a prototype humanoid weapon, modeled after his own, saving his life.
Tiedan was a young man with an unbelievably rustic name. For three years, he had devoted himself to his beloved Shiyao, only for her to run off with someone else.
Why was Tiedan called "Tiedan"? What secrets did his past hold?
