Uma Musume: The Morning Star of the Starry Sea

Uma Musume are creatures blessed by the Three Goddesses and regarded by people as bringers of good fortune.

Misfortune, however, seemed strangely tied to Polaris, the star that represented hope.

Abandoned as a child and left an orphan, she was once hailed as a genius, but her tendency to break bones earned her the label of a good-for-nothing.

Though she was carefully cared for at Huaguo National Tracen, one hardship after another still struck after her debut. She suffered a hairline fracture in her right foot at the Huaguo Derby, then broke her right foot and fractured her left at the Arima Kinen...

Just when Polaris was shunned and scorned by everyone, nearly driven to despair, the heiress Boundless Starsea, who had clung to her ever since her debut, stood in front of her time and time again.

“Hey, Polaris, you’re my guiding star! How can you just give up like this?”

“Xinghai, this is my second fracture. I might never be able to run again. The Dawn Star, the Star of Hope... At this rate, I guess I’m just a jinx!”

“Look at me. Don’t worry about all that. Polaris, listen up. I don’t care whether you can run alongside me in the future. If you can’t, I’ll keep running with your will in my heart. And if all else fails, I’ll keep you myself. After all, you’re the star that lit up my life.”
