At the Golden Throne Hall, the captive is presented to the court. His plain white robes can't hide his breathtaking beauty. The cold-faced God of War crushes his wine cup. “I want him!” According to the plot, Lin Xi should sow discord and be executed, right? The prince points his sword at the emperor for him. “Let him go. You can have the empire. He's mine!” The whole court is in an uproar, and the destined couple falls apart on the spot.
World Two: The movie star's personal assistant.
Lin Xi is falling apart: I just want to follow the plot and get written out! Why do the male leads fall head over heels for me the moment they see me? That's not how the script goes!
The System is even more distraught: [Warning! Major plot points have veered off course!] [Mission failed! Failed! Failed!] [This plot has gone completely off the rails!]
The male leads (gazingly devoted / making domineering declarations): The script? What's that? I only have eyes for you.
The main-story love interests (confused extras): Weren't I supposed to be the protagonist?
This is the sweet, self-indulgent (and spectacularly derailed) journey of a cannon fodder who tries to stick to the plot, only for his looks to be so outrageously good that every male lead goes blind, leaving the story full of holes.
Lin Xi: Help! I can't keep playing cannon fodder! The male leads are looking at me in increasingly weird ways!
System (numb): Host, how about... we just lie back and win?
Hmm, I think it's okay (self). I was a bit conflicted when I read the comments at first, but as I read on, it's actually okay (it's at the bottom of the system. This system is an unknown source of fire [rolls eyes]). There are some clips in the middle that I find a bit satisfying (self). Whatever, everyone has different tastes 😄
