A meteorite lands in Alaska, USA. It radiates a power from outer space, seemingly a warning or even a declaration of war from extraterrestrial forces to the people of Earth. When people try to study it, they discover that it is highly corrosive, so they store it in a container at a base. Three years later, sensors detect the meteorite emitting a warning.
